Modern is not a style; It’s a way of being
The term “modern” is applicable to houses that make efficient use of material and human resources, and are reflective of our time. Given the fact that in 2018 homeowners occupy the same home for a dozen years (up from seven years in 2000), truly modern houses are planned with the flexibility and forethought to accommodate and welcome evolving lifestyles; the ability to turn a toddler’s bedroom into a mediation room when the teenager relocates to more private digs in your home — all with no remodeling required. Today, planning for aging in place and perhaps for housing elderly parents or college graduates returning to the nest are part of planning a modern home.
Lindal’s New Modern Catalogue includes traditional designs!
The Lindal Elements system that I created with the Lindal Design team is modern in process and product — more so than any competitor or alternative approach that I am aware of.
On February 1, Lindal published a new catalogue, “Lindal Modern,” with over 160 designs that utilize the Elements approach to “modern.”
Warmmodern Designs Included
I worked with Lindal’s VP of Marketing, Sig Benson, on organizing the messages — I also wrote the copy — and we agreed that it was time to showcase Elements designs that are traditional in form but enjoy the attributes — and benefits- of the Elements system. The chapter entitled “Lindal Classic Modern,” includes nine designs.
Three Classic Modern designs were selected from the dozens of traditional Elements custom designs already completed for specific clients. The selected designs have broad appeal and already have been the inspiration or starting point for other clients’ Lindal designs.
I am pleased that four of the five new designs in “Lindal Modern” are Warmmodern Living designs, adding to the other eight designs already included in the Lindal Elements collection.
These new designs have new "Lindalized" model names (the number that follows the tree name is the square footage of living space), but I will always know them fondly by my clients' names. We thank those clients for selecting Lindal and Warmmodern Living and inspiring us to create these Elements designs.
We invite you to read about the genesis of these and other Warmmodern Living client designs at http://warmmodernliving.com/current-projects/ and the entire Lindal Modern catalogue at Lindal.com
